Installing your Rhino 3 on Windows 10, Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 32bit or 64bit can be very easily defined in these short steps…
- Obtain your copy of the Longbow Reviver tool here – you need version 4.13 or newer
- Copy your entire Rhino 3 CD to c:\CDs\Rhino3
- Start the Reviver tool
- Select the 1st tab named “Old Installer Reviver”
- Pick the path to the copy of your Rhino CD on your hard drive e.g c:\CDs\Rhino3
- Click the “Fix and Run Old Installer” button
- Don’t select the “Disable Windows 64bit Device Driver Signing Verification” check box
- Read and understand all messages that appear and click OK
- d. Now the Rhino 3 setup should start as normal, read the next step before continuing
- Once in the Rhino setup, install as normal, except
- When prompted for the installation path c:\Program Files (x86)\Rhinoceros 3.0, change it to c:\Rhino3
- NOTE: You may have to create the folder by hand using Windows Explorer
- Now finish the install
- Completely close the setup application
- Next, before running Rhino 3
- Go back to the Reviver tool
- Pick the 2nd tab named “Old Program Reviver”
- Using the “…” button, select the newly installed c:\Rhino3 path
- Click the “Fix Old Program” button
- When prompted “Do you want me to re-register your Program’s components?”, say no
- Now you can happily run your Rhino 3 on Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10!
